Tamam installs from the LG Content Store. No other way is needed.
Which TVs?
LG TVs with webOS 5 or newer, which means 2020 and later. Older models won’t run it. Samsung and Android TV versions are on the way; I’ll write it here when they reach their stores.
Install
- Open the LG Content Store on your TV.
- Search for Tamam and press Install.
- Open it when it’s done.
First start
On first start Tamam gets you ready in four steps:
- Language. The TV’s language is the default; pick another if you like.
- Source. You say where your channels come from (below).
- Look. Theme and colour intensity; you can change them later in Settings.
- Ready. Content loads in the background; you can browse meanwhile.
Add your list
Tamam doesn’t provide content; it plays your list. Your provider will have given you one of three things:
- Account details (Xtream). A server address, user name and password. Type the address with its port number. The film and series library comes only this way.
- A list link (M3U). An address starting with http. Paste the link as it is.
- A file. A .m3u or .m3u8 file on your phone. You send it from the phone (below).
Tamam checks the details straight away: does the server answer, is the login accepted, how many channels, films and series there are. The account’s expiry date and how many screens it allows at once are shown too.
To add a source later, go to Settings > Sources. You can add several lists or accounts, and switch one off without deleting it.
Make your phone the remote
Scan the QR code the TV shows with your phone. The page that opens talks to your TV only, over your home network:
- Add your list from the phone, or send a file.
- Type searches on your phone’s keyboard.
- Use the phone as a remote, for the player and the programme guide.
- Report a problem from the phone.
You can renew the pairing with Settings > Phone > Reset phone remote; paired phones then scan the code again.
